Join in the fun of community engagement. Soccer practice is from 6-7:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Saturdays 10:30 am-12 noon..
The team welcomes volunteer coaches, coach assistants, and team parents. Everyone involved with the youth will need to undergo a background check through the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club. Coaches will undergo ASEP coach training by the County online. The Club will pay for both of training fees. High school students may participate and earn volunteer student hours towards graduation.
During registration, you will be asked about medical issues, drug and food allergies, etc. There is also a consent to sign that allows the Club to use your child's picture in the sports advertisements and newsletters in the community to promote the Club's sports program. You will need to sign waivers, bring a picture ID card of your child, and to pay $40 fee. The ID must show your child's picture AND date of birth on the same document. A birth certificate will not work because it has no picture. If we are playing intramural, any ID showing date of birth will suffice. If we play as a County registered team, proper picture ID will be required such as a government ID or passport card. ID can be obtained at the MVA in Largo for $20. Waivers and consents are attached in Spanish and English.
Beginning April 1, all activities will occur on the field, including late registration and payments. In a few instances, the team may meet at the Boys and Girls Club (across the street) due to weather or special activities. You would be notified in advance.
A team jersey will be provided for each player. You will need to purchase for your child: soft under the sock shin guards, a genital cup for boys (recommended), black shorts or sweatpants, and cleats that are NOT METAL. The Club has shin guards and cups for sale for $10. The Club will provide a team jersey.
Please return your registration forms, bring your ID, and pay fees ($40) per player which can be paid in person or online by Cash App. $PPLBGC. Shin guards are available for $10.
There will be more details to come. Let's work together to develop a soccer team that our children will enjoy and be proud of. They need fun and excitement in their lives that will help them to grow and develop.

Who and what Ages? Members of the PPLBGC Ages 3-10 (ZOOM groups ages 3-5 and 6-10).
The Purpose? To help our children develop a love and enthusiasm for books.
Why?
Scientific studies show that young children become better readers when they are read to during ‘storytime’. They excel in communication, vocabulary, and grammar. Children who learn to read for pleasure at an early age will achieve higher socioeconomic and educational options as they mature. Besides, a good book will take you places and stimulate your mind in a most enjoyable manner.
How does it work?
TFT storytelling occurs 2ndand 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00-10:45 AM. Readers will read to the youth carefully selected age appropriate books that are chosen to develop character, culture, and to educate. The reader will also discuss the story with the youth during or after the reading. This builds understanding and self esteem as their input is valued.
